Captain Lori Perez began her distinguished career with the New York Police Department (NYPD) in 2000. Throughout her service, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to her community. As a proud mother of both a baseball and volleyball player, Captain Perez balances her demanding professional life with her family responsibilities.
Currently assigned to the Community Affairs Section, Captain Perez plays a pivotal role in fostering strong community relationships and ensuring the well-being of residents. Her leadership qualities and dedication to service have led her to hold several significant roles within the NYPD and associated organizations. She is the First Female President of the National Latino Peace Officers Association (NLPOA) Bronx Chapter, a Citywide Trustee for the NYPD Hispanic Society, and a Supervisors Representative for the NYPD Policewomen’s Endowment Association.
In addition to her various roles, Captain Perez is deeply passionate about community service and mentorship. She works tirelessly to mentor young officers and guide them in their careers, as well as to support various community initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for Bronx residents.
Her exemplary service and leadership were recognized on May 31, 2024, when she was promoted to the rank of Captain. This promotion is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the positive impact she has had on both the NYPD and the community she serves.
Captain Perez continues to inspire those around her with her commitment to law enforcement, community engagement, and mentorship, making her a respected and influential figure within the NYPD and beyond.
